Can’t Talk: All Tied Up for September 30, 2016
Check out what’s got the Can’t Talk Media team all tied up this week.
I’ll be in Portland for work this week, which means busy evenings of hanging out with my family and seeing old friends. Saturday is travel, Sunday will be laundry and puppy cuddles. I’m also knitting on an unprecedented three projects at once (two are nearly done) and trying to wrangle together a coherent piece for the Can’t Talk’s upcoming theme week.
I’m going to be at the beach this weekend, so I have a few books on tap: “Americanah” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, “The Underground Railroad” by Colson Whitehead and rereading “A Darker Shade of Magic” and “A Gathering of Shadows” by V.E. Schwab—plus the audiobook of “Ready Player One” by Ernest Cline for the drive.
I am completely sucked up in playing “Mystic Messenger” on my phone. I thought it was going to be pretty blah and typical, but I really like the format and how you can’t play everything all at once. I’m also back to “Mass Effect 3” now, so I’ll probably be looking for people to join me in multiplayer.
I can’t talk because I’m still pumped from the TLC/En Vogue concert I went to earlier this week. They sang all the hits and sounded incredible live. Best trivia prize ever! This weekend we will be going out of state for a wedding, and I plan on finishing “The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet” by Becky Chambers during the trip. I love it so far. It’s like a book version of “Firefly” and “Mass Effect.” I just wish these aliens were romanceable.
This weekend I’ll be playing League of Legends, Dungeons & Dragons, and watching the League of Legends World Championship group stage. I’ve also just started the first season of “Penny Dreadful” and am totally in love with the classical horror elements. (It gets a 10/10 for the amount of nice looking man-butt in each episode.)
