Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series is coming
Telltale Games is one of my favourite video game companies. They are one of the few that put out truly story-driven games. They’ve been very successful at adapting popular franchises such as The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us into extremely intense playable experiences.
We’ve known for quite some time that the award-winning HBO television drama series, Game of Thrones, is one of the next projects to be tackles. A few hints and teases have been dropped but it wasn’t until today when an official trailer was released.
The trailer confirms that Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series will be a six episode series. Even more exciting, it has been revealed that some cast members from the television series are reprising their roles in the game.
Interestingly enough, it seems players will be controlling five characters from House Forrester while previous Telltale Games usually had us playing from the perspective of one character. We’ll be able to interact with Tyrion Lannister performed by Peter Dinklage, Cersei Lannister performed by Lena Heady, Margaery Tyrell performed by Natalie Dormer, and Ramsay Snow performed by Iwan Rheon. Apparently additional cast members will appear in later episodes.
The game begins near the end of Season Three of the TV series, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. It has also been revealed that players will visit King’s Landing and The Wall, as well as less familiar areas such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.
The game series will be available for download on PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS, “soon”.
