March Loot Crate Unboxing: Attack on Titanfall
It’s once again that magical time when I either brag or lament the $20 I spent on the dice roll known as Loot Crate. It’s Unboxing Day: Attack on Titanfall edition!
I’m still enjoying many hours of Titanfall goodness, so this month’s Loot Crate was super exciting for me. The theme was “Attack on Titanfall” and had items from both the manga/anime Attack on Titan and from Titanfall.
The first thing I pulled out of the box was this Titanfall shirt. The booklet says that it’s based on a shirt that was only available to the Titanfall dev team, so that makes it extra special. More importantly, it’s awesome.
Seriously. This is an awesome shirt.
This is a wristband bearing the logo of the Survey Corps from Attack on Titan. I’ll be honest, I had no idea what the symbol was when I pulled it out of the box. My son didn’t know either, but he also did not care. He took off with it so fast I barely got a picture.
On the left you’ll see an “Attack on Titanfall” magnet bearing the cover art from this month’s Loot Crate magazine. On the right– and this is super cool– is a code from Prima Games for a free digital Titanfall guide. The guide has already been helpful; for instance, I learned that hacking enemy Spectres turns them into your own personal army. Their kills count toward your score. This is life changing information for people that can’t aim and aren’t very fast. (Like me.)
The box contained a Titanfall lanyard and this month’s Loot Crate pin. Both of these disappeared with my son. I feel some sorrow over this, because I could have used the lanyard at a convention, but it probably doesn’t matter in the long run. I’ll reclaim it when he gets bored with it.
There were also two copies of the first volume of Attack on Titan. I’m pretty sure I was only supposed to get one, but I’m not complaining. I did read it, and was actually really intrigued. I might actually end up watching the show, since I’ve heard it’s on Netflix.
My son also took one of these. He brought it back an hour later because it was “too scary”. Then he slept in my room for the next four days. Thanks, Loot Crate!
All in all, this is by far my favorite Loot Crate so far. The spare copy of Attack on Titan is going in a box toward our next giveaway, so keep your eyes open for that!
